Renting out your vehicle is simple. Just follow these steps:
- Remember: You have complete control over who rents your car and how it can be used. All drivers are carefully screened by DriveShare. You get the final say on who gets the keys.
- DriveShare has your back with insurance coverage, high-tech roadside assistance and continual customer support.
- Prepare three well-lit, good photos of your car. These will sell the experience! Be sure to include a picture of the interior.
- Sign up or log in to your account from the menu, or you can list your car using the DriveShare app (found in Apple App Store or Google Play Store). Connect with your renters during booking periods on the app, and your rental check out and check in can be completed with ease.
- Click “List Your Car”. Follow the prompts to enter basic stats about your car.
- Enter the description. Share enough about the car to get people interested, but don’t make it so long that people stop reading. Mention any special details about your car or any restrictions you have about renting it.
- Upload the photos. Choose the most eye-catching photo as the title photo. This is the first image that renters will see before clicking on your listing.
- Set your policies. Specify rules for pets, fuel, weather and the like. You can also set the maximum mileage allowed to be driven on the car per day, and how much each mile over that limit costs.
- Decide what type of rental you want to offer and the price for each. Choose between Driving, Chauffeured, or Event rentals.
- A Driving Rental allows you to drive the car.
- An Event Rental is for use of the car as display only; it will not be driven on public roads.
- A Chauffeured Rental is just what you think: the car’s owner or his or her proxy will drive you in the car.
- Set the location for where renters can pick up your car and whether you provide delivery. You can also set delivery fees based on distance or airport pickup. Your exact address won’t be made visible to site users. Note some simple pick-up instructions here.
- Click “Preview Listing” to make sure everything looks good, and then click “Done.”
- Once the car listing is live, you can also change the availability using the calendar, found under the “Availability” tab under each car.
